Ethnic Kazakh actress from China Reyizha Alimjan also known as Re Yi Zha will play the main part in Somewhere Only We Know, a Chinese romantic drama directed by Xu Jinglei, Tengrinews reports citing Massaget.kz.
The film premiers on Valentine’s Day in 2015. The filming started in Prague, the Czech Republic. Reyizha plays along with Wu Yifan from Korean band EXO.
Reyizha was born in Beijin on July 15, 1986 in a family of ethnic Kazakhs. Her parents are working in a language center. Reyizha started her film career at the age of 15.
Migration of Kazakhs to neighbouring countries took place in 1930 during a famine. After Kazakhstan gained its independence, many ethnic Kazakhs returned through Oralman (repartee) program introduced by President Nursultan Nazarbayev. Kazakhs live in Russia, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, China and other countries. In China, most of ethnic Kazakh reside in autonomous counties and cities and do not speak Standard Chinese fluently but stick to the Kazakh language.
