The 4th International Art Festival Japanese Autumn will be held in Almaty on September 8-9, 2014, Tengrinews reports.

The festival aims to demonstrate traditional and modern Japanese culture, support talents in different fields of art and strengthen relations between Kazakhstan and Japan.

Two concerts will be held as a part of the Festival in the Kazakh National State Zhambyl Philharmonic Hall located at the crossing of Kadlayakov and Tole Bi streets. Both concerts on September 8 and 9 will start at 6:30 p.m.

Kishi Mitsuaki trio jazz band from Japan will perform on September 8. Their leader Kishi Mitsuaki is widely known in the world of jazz. He is a winner of Selective Gold Disc award of Japan’s oldest and most respected Swing jazz magazine.

The band has promised a musical surprise for the Kazakh audience - it will play Kazakh folk melodies in jazz interpretation.

On the second day of the Festival, September 9, Almaty residents and guests of the city will be able to enjoy the Dreams of Japan concert program, which includes a mix of classical and contemporary music, dance, sand drawing and a Japanese haiku (a genre of Japanese poetry) performed by Kazakhstan’s popular actors Gulnara Dusmatova and Yevgeniy Zhumanov.

Kazakh People's Artist Roza Rymbayeva, opera singers Gulzat Daurbayeva and Azamat Zheltyrkozov, virtuoso pianist Timur Urmancheev, ballet dancer Doszhan Tabyldy and Street Style and Wake Up dance groups will perform on the stage of the Zhambyl Philharmonic Hall on the second day.

The audience will also enjoy popular Japanese melodies along with Kazakh and European classics.

Dancers will be turning into the Japanese samurai and demonstrating virtuoso combinations of choreography and computer technology.

Entrance to the Festival is free of charge, but the free tickets should be picked up in advance at the booking office of the Zhambyl Philharmonic Hall.

The Festival is organised by Degdar humanitarian fund and Japan Tobacco International company.
