Italian classical masterpieces to be performed in Almaty

Masterpieces of Italian music will be performed in the theater Zhas Sakhna in Almaty on 21 and 22 February, Tengrinews reports.

The program of the concert includes compositions by Luigi Boccherini, Antonio Vivaldi, Giacomo Puccini, Giuseppe Verdi, Vincenzo Bellini, Eduardo di Capua, Lucio Dalla, Francesco Sartori, Nino Rota and Ennio Morricone.

There will be performances by a graduate of the Royal College of Music and the Higher School of Music and Drama Guildhall Bulat Tynybekov (vocals, cello) from Kazakhstan, a winner of international competitions Akmaral Kazhgaliyeva (piano) also from Kazakhstan and Lucy Pittman (vocals, piano) from the UK.

The concert will take place at 6 p.m. at 117 Abay Avenue.

Kazakh cellist and vocalist Bulat Tynybekov is a winner of multiple international competition and laureate of Youth Union of Kazakhstan and National Prize Serper. In 2009 Bulat, a fellow of Kazakh eduction scholarship “Bolashak” graduated with honors from the Royal College of Music and the Higher School of Music and Drama Guildhall, London. He performed for various audiences, which included Gerhard Schroeder, Prince Charles of Wales, Queen Elizabeth II and Lord Fraser.

Akmaral Kazhgalieva is a graduate of the Kazakh National Conservatory named after Kurmangazy. She participated in a number of international and domestic competitions both as piano soloist and concertmaster.

Zhas Sakhna, the young theater, opened on April 27, 2013 with several Kazakh plays and jazz evenings. The theater’s mission is to provide a stage for modern Kazakh and world art.
