Internationally acclaimed film director Emir Baigazin has completed his second film of the Wounded Angel trilogy, Tengrienws reports.

The premier of Baigazin's film is scheduled for 2016. Wounded Angel will be screened at one of the leading European film festivals. No further information concerning the premier has been revealed yet.

Wounded Angel follows the theme set by Baigazin in Harmony Lessons, critically acclaimed debut film. The film explores the complexities of teenage inner world along with complex interactions of a teenage with the surrounding world. Wounded Angel consists of four novellas revealing at times painful clashes with reality and adult life, the life deprived of teenage idealism.

Yves Cape awarded European Film Award for Best Cinematographer for Humanite (1999), worked with Baigazin on Wounded Angel as a cameraman.

The second film directed by Baigazin was sponsored by Kazakhfilm and Capricci Films (France), Augenschein Filmproduktion (Germany) as well as the ARTE TV channel and Doha Film Institute. The film was also supported by The Post Republic (Germany) film studio that provided post-production services.

Baigazin's Wounded Angel was also picked out for the Platform at the Toronto International Film Festival. However, the invitation was denied for some production reasons.

Emir Baigazin debuted with Harmony Lessons in 2013. The film earned the Silver Bear the Berlin International Film Festival. Baigazin’s work was also noted as the Best film in official selection by Morgenpost. The debut work of the Kazakhstani film director took around 30 awards and participated at 60 film festivals around the world. Harmony Lessons was screened in Austria, Portugal, Poland and France.
