The best script competition kicked off in Almaty as part of the international action film festival named after Astana, Tengrinews.kz reports. The winner of the competition will get a chance to make a movie together with the famous Kazakhstan director Timur Bekmambetov. The contest's objective is to find and train new talented movie directors, producers and script writers, as well as boost the film industry in Kazakhstan. The best scripts will be presented in Astana during the film fest in July. The search for talents will last for one month. Only 40 people took part in the contest last year. But the last year's competition lasted for only one week, so the number of participants was so small. And there were no Kazakhstan citizens among the participants. Five winners made it into the final. Brian Miller, a script writer from USA won the contest with his Apollo 18 film project. The movie will be released soon.
