Joint Russian-Kazakhstan Cinema Commission presented in Cannes

Joint Russian-Kazakhstan Cinema Commission that started working in Los Angeles was presented at the Cannes Festival, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing RIA Novosti. The Commission was presented by Yelena Romanova who heads the International Department of the Cinema Foundation. “We have already implemented several successful co-production projects together with Kazakhstan. This made us realize that would be a logical development0 to join our efforts with Kazakhstan and establish a joint two-country office in Hollywood to search for American partners together,” Romanova said. According to Alla Razuvayeva, official representative of the company, the Cinema Commission will work in different fields. “First of all, we will offer international personnel training for producers and distributors. They will be able to get internships in the biggest world companies. Moreover we will boost distribution potential of Russian movies by supporting international casting co-production projects that will meet the demand of international audience,” Razuvayeva said. The Commission also plans to provide some training for actors by offering internship grants. Actors will get a chance to meet Hollywood agents during their internships and to take part in castings. The Commission representatives haven’t yet mentioned the names of the Kazakhstan and Russian actors that are expected to participate. The Russian and Kazakh Films Days will be held in grand Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles in February, 2013.
