13 y.o. Karaganda native Vladimir Sukhov won an international music competition in Rome, Italy, Tengrinews reports citing Channel Five.

The competition gathered 59 young musicians from France, Germany, Russia and other countries. Vladimir was the only representative of Kazakhstan.

The young virtuoso chose musical piece written by Kazakhstani composer for the competition.

“I felt like I was in an ancient city in an ancient time. I was in Rome and it was such a great feeling. The piano that I played there was exceptional,” the young pianists said.

Vladimir has been studying piano for 8 years. He has participated in a number of competitions in Almaty and Aktobe. Winning the National Competition in Astana ensured Vladimir a ticket to Rome for the International Competition.

The young musician did not let his teachers down and won the competition. His teachers believe there are more international competitions to come for Vladimir.
