Tengrinews.kz – Last year, 285 children tragically lost their lives in road traffic accidents in Kazakhstan. The distressing statistic was shared by Galym Sargulov, Deputy Chairman of the Administrative Police Committee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Sargulov described the deaths of children as "unacceptable losses."

"In the past year, 285 children died as a result of road traffic accidents, which is an unacceptable loss. More than half of the injured minors were passengers in vehicles," Sargulov said during a briefing at the Central Communications Service.

The police official highlighted that in most cases, adults were transporting children in violation of safety rules. This included the absence of child restraint devices and neglecting seat belts. He emphasized that a significant portion of injuries and fatalities among minors was directly linked to the failure to comply with basic safety requirements.
