Tengrinews.kz – The closure of a tunnel in Astana has been extended due to ongoing wall cladding and curb stone replacement.
According to the city administration (akimat), repair work continues in the underground transport tunnel on Baraeva Street. As a result, the section will remain completely closed to traffic until the end of the month.
Residents and guests of the capital are advised to plan their routes in advance to avoid traffic congestion.
In addition, on September 4 at 7:00 PM, the Astana Arena stadium will host a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match between the national teams of Kazakhstan and Wales.
Due to the event, several road sections near the stadium will be closed.
Traffic restrictions will begin several hours before the match and will remain in effect until the end of the event.
