Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstan is set to develop a new international highway connecting Kazakhstan, Russia, and Mongolia.

According to the Ministry of Transport, the project will establish a route through Ust-Kamenogorsk, Ridder, and the Russian locality of Tyuekte, leading to the Mongolian border. The length of the Kazakh section from Ust-Kamenogorsk to the border with Russia will be 189 kilometers.

The main part of the route will run through Russian territory. If the Russian side agrees to participate in the project, the total length of the road will be reduced to 837 kilometers.

Currently, the existing road connecting Ust-Kamenogorsk to the Mongolian border through Rubtsovsk, Barnaul, and Tyuekte spans 1,604 kilometers.
