Principle dancers of European theatres will perform Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s legendary Swan Lake in the Abay State Opera and Ballet Theatre in Almaty, Tengrinews reports citing ArtClassic.
Winners of the Dance Open, Iana Salenko of the Staatsoper Berlin and Covent Garden’s Vadim Muntagirov will open the night of wonder and magic on the stage of the Almaty’s Opera House on October 12.
Ukrainian born ballet dancer Salenko is praised for her perfect technique and effortless performances. Salenko graduated from the Pisarev Ballet School in Donetsk in 2000. She performed in leading theatres of Ukraine. In 2005, Salenko joined German Staatsoper Berlin. Two years later, the Ukrainian dancer was named the principle dancer of the theater.
Russian ballet dancer Muntagirov began his professional career in 2006. He graduated from the Perm Ballet School at 16 and enrolled into the Royal Ballet Upper School. The outstanding dancer Muntagirov earned his place as the principle dancer at the Royal Ballet in 2014. The two dancers remain faithful to classical ballet despite growing popularity of contemporary styles of ballet.
Swan Lake starts at 6:00 p.m. on October 12 at the Abay State Opera and Ballet Theatre located at Kabanbai Batyr Street 110 at the intersection with Panfilov street. The tickets cost from $40 to $130 and are available at the box office of the theatre.
