A native of Kazakhstan, Dmitry Schaad has been named the best young theater actor by a prominent German magazine Theater heute in a survey of critics, Tengrinews correspondent reports.
The 27 year old actor was born in Kaskelen village near Almaty. His family moved to Germany when he was just eight.
Dmitry graduated from Bavarian Theatre Academy founded by August Everding. Dmitry has been working in several German theaters and has played a variety of lead roles, including in plays like Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Dogville and Billy.
The actor is currently with the Maxim Gorky Theater in Berlin, which was voted Theater of the Year by Theater heute in the last theater season.
This is not the first award Schaad received. In 2011, the actor was awarded the grand prize by Schauspielhaus theater for his role in the play named America staged by distinguished contemporary theater master Jan Klata.
