Kazakhstan cinema artist won art contest in New York

Works of Kazakhstan cinema artist Nurlan Abishev won the first prize at New York art contest SPRING IN FULL COLOR, Tengrinews.kz reports. Artists of different art directions and schools took part in the exhibition. The contest was divided into five categories, including realism, impressionism, surrealism. The winners in every nomination were awarded with gold, silver and bronze medals. They also received special Achievement medals. Despite of the fact that the painters from all over the world (USA, France, Italy, Argentina, Russia, Ukrain, Lithuania) took part, two paintings of Kazakhstan artist Nurlan Abishev received the awards. The painting Men Seni Sagynganda (When I'm missing you) won gold in Lyrics category and the painting Charyn Canyon was awarded with solver in Realism category. The event was organized by ASA Art Gallery, a Broadway gallery of modern arts, under the aegis of New York Realism Fine Art Association of artists and New York Academy of Art. Nurlan Abishev is Kazakhstan painter, graphic designer, illustrator, who lately became famous as a cinema artist. In 2004 he became a prize winner of Shaken Stars film festival for the best art director work in Revival Island movie. Later he received a Grand Prix in KinoShock festival in Anapa and became the prize winner of Zolotoy Vityaz Russian film festival in Chelyabinsk for his work in the same movie. During the launch of the Nomads international project initiated by Kazakhfilm studio Abishev worked as a set designer under the management of Franco Fumagalli (famous for his works in the English Patient and the Godfather).
