Karim Massimov recommended Taleb’s Black Swan book to his friends, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Prime-Minister’s page on Facebook. Asked about the books that he reads, Karim Massimov wrote: “One of the recently read books is Black Swan by Nassim N. Taleb. I highly recommended it.” Black Swan was first published in 2007. It is authored by Nassim Micholas Taleb who is an essayist, mathematician and trader. He uses the term “black swans” to refer to cases that seem natural now, but have been considered completely impossible earlier. The global financial crisis is one of such cases. As per the author, these unexpected incidents – “black swans” – give boosts to the history of mankind in general and to the lives of individuals in particular. Shortly after the book was published its author successfully demonstrated his “no-theory” in practice: amid the financial crisis Taleb’s company earned $500 million for its investors.
