Opening of the unusual photo show with an intriguing name Raise Your Eyes is scheduled for April 16 in Almaty. What makes the performance unique is that the visitors will have to lie down to see the exhibition. In the prone position they will be able to view the images projected onto the ceiling, Tengrinews.kz reports. The photo show will have a story format instead of the classical posed one. Its purpose is to shift away from traditional gallery designs, because the photo-show's organizers consider them boring and old-fashioned. The organizers are striving to change the attitude to modern photography and get more people to view it as an art. Speaking of the format the organizers point out that non-posed photographs are a more honest and objective type of modern art because every "frame is a true life story”. Almaty residents will be able to start “raising their eyes” on April 16 at 6.00 p.m. in a dance theater of Gabbassova Sisters. The theater is located at the crossing of Turgut Ozal and Vasnetsov streets. The show will last until April 22.
