Tengrinews.kz - A Fouga Magister jet crashed into the sea during an airshow off the coast of Lavandou in southern France, according to Le Figaro.

The two-seater jet, popular among aviation enthusiasts, lacks ejection seats. According to the French Air and Space Force, the aircraft was performing before a demonstration of patrol planes.

Tragically, the 65-year-old pilot was unable to eject and was trapped in the cockpit, resulting in his death. Rescuers later recovered his body.

The deceased was a former military pilot who had owned the plane for about thirty years.

The airshow was interrupted and subsequently canceled by the organizers.
