Kazakhstan residents will have five days off for Nauryz holiday: March 21 to 25, Gazeta.kz writes. "According to the Holidays Law that was changed 2 years ago by Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Nauryz is celebrated in Kazakhstan on March 21, 22 and 23. This year the 3-day holiday is followed by two weekend days. So, March 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25 will be the days off," the magazine writes. Nauryz is an antient holiday of the new year (spring) as per the solar calendar of Turkic people. It is celebrated in Azerbaijan, Albania, Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia (Tatarstan and Bashkiriya), Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Georgia and other countries. Nauryz dishes are normally cooked of seven, mainly vegetarian, ingredients. Kazakhstan holiday dish is called 'nauryz kozhe'.
