The Supreme Mufti of Kazakhstan sheikh Absattar Derbissali has called Kazakhstan citizens to shake gossips about imminent doomsday out their heads, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-service of the Spiritual Management of Muslims of Kazakhstan. “The rumors have been spreading that we will have to face an apocalypse. People are getting scared and stocking up on food. All this is a groundless lie. We should not believe it, stay unprovoked and not destabilize people,” the Supreme Mufti said. “Allah the Almighty holds the power over everything related to the end of the world. The responsibilities of Allah’s Prophet are very clear and should not be violated. The Prophet is supposed to warn those who are ready to heed the warning. These people understand that the Judgment Day is the real trial and, thus, fear the result. That’s why they build their life in a strong belief that the Judgment Day will come only in the time predefined by Allah the Almighty. And nobody gets to know this time,” sheikh Absattar Derbissali added. Earlier Kazakhstan Emergency Situations Minister Vladimir Bozhko also refuted the rumors about the coming doomsday. According to him, this is an absolutely fictitious situation widely popularized by the media. According to Maya calendar, the apocalypse has to come on December 21, 2012. In this relation some people in Almaty started buying candles, matches, grits, crackers and canned food.
