Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev gave Monaco Prince Albert II a traditional Kazakh hat, Malakhai, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the President’s press-service.

The President met the Prince of Monaco on November 2 in his residence in Astana. Albert II thanked Nazarbayev for his invitation and for holding the Era of Monaco Princess Grace Kelly exhibition in Astana.

“It’s good that you came and saw our country. I hope that this visit will put a start to a long history of cooperation between Kazakhstan and your country. I am very pleased to see and meet you. It is such a big honor especially that you are holding an exhibition devoted to your mother, a great woman. This is a big event for Kazakhstan,” Nursultan Nazarbayev told the guest.

After the official ceremony the heads of the countries discussed political, trade and economic, investment, ecological, cultural and humanitarian cooperation. Their negotiations resulted in a joint declaration that praised the role of the political dialog and consultations at different levels between Kazakhstan and Monaco on the issues of national interest to both countries and on the issues of global importance. Besides, a cooperation agreement was signed between Kazakhstan Chamber of Commerce and Monaco Economic Development Chamber.
