Japanese deputies nominated Nursultan Nazarbayev for the Nobel Peace Prize, Tengrinews.kz reports citing deputy director of Nazarbayev-Center Roman Vassilenko.

“During the rally Japanese deputy declared that many of his colleagues were nominating President Nazarbayev for the Nobel Peace Prize. The name of the Japanese deputy is Hiroyuki Moriyama. He was born in Hiroshima and saw many people who suffered from a nuclear bomb,” Vassilenko wrote in his Twitter.

He explained to Tengrinews.kz that Japanese deputy made this statement at the rally in Semei that was held as part of the International conference called From Nuclear Test Ban to Nuclear Weapons Free World.

“During the rally the Hiroshima-born deputy declared that he nominated Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev for the Nobel Peace Prize and many of his colleagues supported him in this. They hoped that their voice will be heard,” Roman Vassilenko said.

According to the charter of the Nobel Fund, members of the national parliaments and governments of different countries, as well as members of the Inter-Parliament Union may nominate candidate for the Peace Prize.

Earlier statements of the intentions to nominated Nazarbayev for the Nobel Peace Prize were made by the citizens of the United States, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. Nursultan Nazarbayev’s adviser Yermukhamet Yertysbayev forecasted that Kazakhstan President would be awarded with the Peace Prize in 2012.

On August 29 Astana is hosting the international anti-nuclear conference. Kazakhstan President is taking part in the conference.
