Kazakhstan to launch biggest solar power station

The project of solar power station was presented on May 1 in Zhanakorgan region of Kyzylorda oblast, KazTAG reports citing the press-service of oblast administration. According to the press-service, the power station with an average annual generation capacity of 65 million kWh will become the biggest solar pant in Kazakhstan. The project is estimated at $93.1 million. When the power station reaches its nominal capacity, its personnel will make around 50 people, as all the processes will be automated. The investors (Samruk-Kazyna Invest, Odissei Investment Group and China’s ET Solar Group) will start constructing the station in August. According to oblast Akim (Governor) Krymbek Kusherbayev, the power station will start producing first electricity on December 25 and reach its nominal capacity in 2014.
