Prime-Minister Karim Massimov has signed a decreed forming a Government Commission to expediently deal with socio-economic, humanitarian and other problems caused by the mass turmoil in the town of Zhanaozen in Mangistau Oblast,” Tengrinews.kz reports with a reference to Karim Massimov’s Twitter.

The Government of Kazakhstan has decreed:

1. To form a government commission for expedient resolution of socio-economic, humanitarian and other problems caused by the mass turmoil in the town of Zhanaozen in Mangistau Oblast.

2. The commission should start its work immediately: determine the extent of damage, take measures to stabilize the situation in the town of Zhanaozen in Mangistau Oblast.

3. Head of the Commission Umirzhak Shukeyev should report on the commission’s progress.

4. The decree comes into force on the day of signing.

The government commission consists of 17 people including Akim (Governor) of Mangistau Oblast, representative of the Cabinet and national companies and head of KazMunaiGas national oil and gas company.
