International distributors have purchased rights to two Kazakhstan movies: Student and Zhauzhurek Myn Bala (1000 Brave Boys), Tengrinews.kz reports, referring to KazakhFilm (national film-making company) press-service. Student directed by Darezhan Omirbayev was presented in Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival. Zhauzhurek Myn Bala by Akan Satayev was screened in the Cannes Film Market. “Student really impressed us. It will be an honor for us to present the movie at the international market,” Germany Media Luna New Films development director Alessandro Lombardo said. “This project is of great potential and it was made scrupulously. We are proud that we will present Zhauzhurek Myn Bala movie at the international market,” Nathaniel Worsh, Canadian 108 Media company’s director, said.
