The clashes happened in Shetpe village of Mangistau oblast on December 17. A group of people blocked railroad communications in support of participants of Zhanaozen riots. Around 50 people opposed policemen, set a locomotive on fire and threw bottles with flammable liquids into the train carriages. 200 people joined the criminals later as the crowd proceeded into a nearby town. The bandits set a New Year tree on fire, broke shop windows and cars. The riots continued in several other railroad facilities. Police had to use arms. One person died, 11 injured.
