The unusual road accident took place in the North Kazakhstan Oblast (NKO). BMW run into a flock of horses at night, Tengrinews.kz correspondent reported referring to the NKO’s Interior Department.

30-year-old driver and his 26-year-old passenger were hospitalized with various injuries.

Five horses were killed as a result of the accident.

Road police says that absence of the horse wrangler who had to control the crossing of the road by the animals is main cause of the accident. But they also point out a possibility that the driver was overspeeding and found himself unable to brake on time.

The incident happened at night at the interurban road between Astana and Petropavlovsk cities. The drive failed to notice a flock of horses crossing the road and run into it.
