Brian Orser, famous Canadian figure-skating coach, is very pleased with the progress of Kazakhstan's 14-y.o. Elizabet Tursynbayeva whom he trains, Tengrinews reports citing the head coach of the Kazakhstan national figure-skating team Kuralai Yzurova as saying in an interview to Vesti.kz.

"Orser is very excited about Liza. He likes her set of mind; she is a very goal-oriented athlete and has a strong will. He says that sometimes Tursynbayva reminds him the Olympic Champion Kim Yuna from South Korea. That is why we anchor great hopes on her," Uzurova said.

Brian Orser started to train Elizabet Tursynbayeva in mid-2013. Elizabet Tursynbayeva couldn't participate in the Sochi Olympics, because she is too young.

"Certainly, if Liza performed at the Winter Olympics 2014, she would sparkle and gain good results. She already makes people to talk about her, most rivals consider her a strong competition. But she has not earned her self a world-wide reputation yet and see probably wouldn't have made it into to the Top 10 in Sochi. Now everybody is talking about young Yulia Lipnitskaya, 15, who successfully performed at the winter Olympics 2014. She won every single junior competition before she was transferred to the seniors. Our athlete has enough time to prepare and she will gradually show her worth," Uzurova said.

Brain Orser’ mentee South Korean figure-skater Kim Yuna won the gold in ladies' singles at the Vancouver Olympic 2010, and his another mentee figure-skater Yuzuru Hanyu from Japan became the Olympic Champion 2014 in Sochi.
