Voskoboeva is 48 lines up in WTA ranking in one week

Kazakhstan professional tennis player Galina Voskoboeva has moved 48 lines up in the updated Women Tennis Association ranking, Tengrinews.kz reports, referring to the official WTA website.

Now Galina is 87th in the ranking. Voskoboeva managed to make such an advance thanks to her successful performance at Rogers Cup tournament in Toronto, Canada. Kazakhstan tennis professional won French Marion Bartoli, Italian Flavia Pennetta and Russian Maria Sharapova, and reached the quarterfinals of the tournament. She lost the match against Belorussian Viktoria Azarenko in the quarterfinals. Voskoboeva won $41.4 thousand in prize money and 225 points for the ranking.

Yaroslava Shvedova, another Kazakhstan tennis player, on the contrary, lost 12 lines in the updated ranking. She is 169th now.

Caroline Wozniacki from Denmark is still the leader of the ranking. Kim Clijsters, who used to be second, now is third. She was pushed down by Vera Zvonareva from Russia, who now is second.

Mikhail Kukushkin is still the best Kazakhstan tennis professional, according to the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) ranking. He lost two lines and is 62nd now. Andrey Golubev left the first hundred and is 101st now. There have been no changes in the top three of the ranking. Serbian Novac Djokovic is still the leader. Spanish Rafael Nadal and Swiss Roger Federer follow him.

Galina Voskoboeva, 26, turned pro in 2002. During her career, she has won three ITF singles titles: in Mont-de-Marsan in 2003, and Cuneo in 2006 and Casablanca in 2011. She also won a doubles title in Malaysian Open in Kuala Lumpur with Dinara Safina in 2011.

Yaroslava Shvedova is a Kazakhstan professional tennis player. She has achieved a career high ranking of No. 29 as of 21 June 2010. She has won 1 WTA singles title, 3 ITF Women's Circuit singles titles and 3 doubles titles, including the 2010 Wimbledon and US Open Ladies' Doubles titles.
