Urkaine wins Women's World Chess Team Championship; Kazakhstan ranked 7th

Ukraine has won the Women's World Chess Team Championship in Astana, Kazakhstan, Vesti.kz reports. Kazakhstan's women's chess team is no the Number 7 in the world. Kazakhstan won over Turkey and France, tied with Romania and the United States. Ukraine's closest rivals were Russia and China. Russia started as a pronounced leader ad kept things that way during several rounds. China – three times world champion – is the traditional winner of such contests. But things went different for the best women's chess team of the world this time probably because it failed to bring its best player: Сhina’s two-time world champion Hou Yifan, who is ranked No. 2 Woman and No. 1 Girl in the January 2013 FIDE World Rankings. The Russian team arrived not at the peak of its form as well. It may be permanently loosing two of its best players -- Nadezhda Kosintseva and Tatiana Kosintseva -- probably to the United States. Kazakhstan was hosting the fourth Women's World Chess Team Championship on March 2-12. The tournament takes place every two years. The Astana event, put on by the World Chess Federation (FIDE) and the CFRK, included the world's 10 top-rated women's chess teams. Each team consisted of five players, with four playing in each of the nine rounds of this round robin tournament. Time control was 90 minutes per 40 moves and thirty minutes until the end of the game plus 30 seconds increment per move. The 10 national teams that took part in the championship are the teams of Ukraine, China, Russia, Georgia, India, the United States, Kazakhstan, Romania, Turkey and France. The Ukrainian team consisted of Anna Ushenina, Kateryna Lagno, Mariya Muzychuk, Inna Gaponenko and Natalia Zhukova. Ukraine remained undefeated in all their nine matches during the tournament, winning seven and drawing two. Ukraine scored the total of 16 points. China was only one point behind it and Russia was three points behind the leader. The national team of Kazakhstan won the 7th place in the World Championship. Kazakhstan won against Turkey and France, tied with Romania and the United States and lost to Ukraine, China, Russia, Georgia and India. However Kazakhstan never let any of its stronger rivals flatten it – is hasn't got a single zero in the table. Kazakhstan's Gulmira Dauletova tied against the current world champion Anna Ushenova during the Kazakhstan-Ukraine match. Kazakhstan's youngest participant Zhansaya Abdumalik won against Ukrain's Inna Gaponenko.
