Kazakhstan’s skier Aleksey Poltoranin won silver in the individual classic sprint that was held in Norway’s Drammen as part of the 14th stage of the Cross-Country Skiing World Cup, Vesti.kz reports.

Norway’s skier Petter Northug became the winner of the home stage of the World Cup. Poltoranin was 2.1 seconds behind Northug. Russia’s Nikita Kryukov was third. He was 4.9 seconds behind the leader.

The Kazakhstan skier was leading the race in the beginning of the distance and drew away from other skiers. However Northug managed to catch up with Poltoranin in the end of the race and win the finishing sprint.
