Rypakova won first medal for Kazakhstan at World Championship in Korea

Kazakhstan sportswoman Olga Rypakova has won a silver medal at Athletics World Championship in South Korea, Tengrinews.kz reports, referring to the official website of the competition.

The Kazakhstan professional showed the result of 14 meters and 89 centimeters in her best try at the competition. She lost 5 centimeters to Ukrainian Olga Saladukha. Catherine Ibarguen from Columbia became the bronze winner of the competition. She jumped 14 meters and 84 centimeters. Rypakova showed her best result only at the fifth attempt, while the Ukrainian “jumped” to gold at her first try.

Rypakova’s silver medal became the first Kazakhstan award at the World Championship. The national team now is on the 17-th place along with Belorussia, Estonia, Hungary, Sudan and Tunis by the overall standings. The U.S. team is the leader of the competition with ten medals: five gold, four silver and one bronze medal. Russia is in the second place and Kenya is third on the overall list. The competition will finish on September, 4th.
