Kazakhstan takes first place with 7 medals at Asian Amateur Boxing Championship

Kazakhstan's boxing team has earned 7 medals at the Asian Amateur Boxing Championship in Thailand and retained its leading position, Tengrinews reports.


Kazakhstan's boxing team has earned 7 medals at the Asian Amateur Boxing Championship in Thailand and retained its leading position, Tengrinews reports.

 Kazakhstan won the first place in the team ranking with 5 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals.

In the finals, Olzhas Sattibayev defeated Shakhobidin Zoirov from Uzbekistan in the flyweight division (-52 kg).

Kairat Yeraliyev earned a bronze medal of the bantamweight division (-56 kg)

In the lightweight division (60 kg), Zakir Safiullin lost to Dorjnyambuugiin Otgondalai landing with a silver medal.

The captain of Kazakhstan's national team Daniyar Yeleussinov fought against Eumir Marcial from Philippines. Yeleussinov brought the second gold to Kazakhstan.

Light heavyweight (-81 kg) boxer Adilbek Niyazymbetov won Elshhod Rasulov.

The heavyweight superstar (-91 kg) Vassiliy Levit crushed Rustam Tulaganov from Uzbekistan. Levit won his first ticket to the Rio Olympics during the 5th WSB season with the Astana Arlans.

Finally, Ivan Dychko won the fight against Wang Zhibao from China brining the fifth gold medal to his team.

Kazakhstan could not repeat its 7 gold medal record from 2013, but retained its leading place at the Asian Amateur Boxing Championship this year. The biggest boxing event in Asia took place in Bangkok from August 26 to September 5.
