Kazakhstan athletes became world's hand-to-hand combat champions

Kazakhstan athletes won four gold medals in the World Hand-to-hand Combat Championship that was held in Almaty, Vesti.kz reports.

Berik Shynaliyev (56 kg weight class), Asset Toleuov (63 kg), Aibek Khyrykhbay (86 kg) and Shakhmaral Dzhetpissov (+95 kg) won gold medals and became world hand-to-hand combat champions. Rizaidin Raylin, Talgat Orazgaliyev, Birzhan Agimov, Nurgalym Kaltayev and Makhmud Mukhamedzhanov won silver medals. Zhanbolat Bissingaliyev, Ruslan Mukhambayev and Adilzhan Saidullayev became bronze winners of the Championship.

Russia’s fighters also won four gold medals. However, the Russian team was ranked second in the general ranking, because the team won less silver medals than Kazakhstan fighters. Kyrgyzstan athletes were ranked third. Athletes from Iran, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Belarus and Azerbaijan took part in the Championship as well.
