Kazakhstani boxer Gennady Golovkin has gone up in the Pound for pound (P4P) rating after defeating Marco Antonio Rubio on October 18, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz.

According to Boxrec.com, the WBA/WBC/IBO middleweight champion Golovkin went from the 8th place in the P4P rating regardless of weight category to the 7th place with 1029 points. Rubio, in turn, did not make it into the first Top-100 of the list.

In the middleweight rating, Rubio lost two places and landed on the 16th place. Golovkin secured his first place in the rating among middleweight boxers.

On October 19, Gennady Golovkin knocked out Marco Antonio Rubio in the second round of the middleweight title unifying fight in Carson, California. Golovkin defended his WBA (Super) and IBO titles as well as won WBC interim title.

In the interview following the fight, the Kazakhstani boxer said he was ready to face any boxer.

British boxer Martin Murray (28-1, 12 KOs) may be Golovkin's next opponent in February 2015 in Monte Carlo.
