Kazakhstan lost 0:1 to Sweden in the World Cup 2014 qualifying match at Astana-Arena stadium in Astana on September 10. The only goal was scored by Swedish forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic 28 seconds into the match. After the match against Kazakhstan the leader of the Swedish national team Zlatan Ibrahimovic admitted that he wanted to score more goals, Vesti.kz reports.

"One goal wasn't enough for me, of course. But Kazakhstan played very good and performed very well at the field. We won over Kazakhstan with the score of 1:0, my goal was a winning one, what is more important for me. Kazakhstan national team had a good defense that performed excellently. But it was very difficult to play on synthetic lawn for me," Ibragimovic said.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic set a new record during the World Cup qualifier in Kazakhstan: the quickfire goal he scored 28 seconds into the match was the fastest goal at the international scene in the Sweden football history at the national teams level. The previous fastest goal record of 35 seconds belongs to Swedish Marcus Allback for his goal against Lithuania in the qualifying match of Euro 2008.

The win keeps Sweden's World Cup qualifying hopes alive, leaving them in the second place in Group C with 17 points behind the group leader Germany that has 22 points.

Midfielder Anders Svensson also set a new record: by appearing of the national team of Sweden in the match against Kazakhstan the 37 y.o. player set Sweden's new cap record by earning his 144th cap. Before that was sharing the previous record with the former goalkeeper Thomas Ravelli.
