Italian Fabio Aru, Kazakhstan’s Astana team cyclist, leads the young rider classification after the third stage of Giro d’Italia marathon cycling race, Vesti.kz reports. Aru is 29 seconds ahead of Poland’s Rafal Majka from Saxo-Tinkoff team and 36 seconds ahead of Columbia’s Carlos Alberto Betancur (AG2R). "We were working with Vincenzo Nibali and Valerio Agnoli to try and gain some time in the overall classification, because our ultimate goal here is to win the Maglia Rosa. I don't know how much of an effect the final attacks had, but to get the Maglia Bianca is a great honor for Astana Pro Team and for me," Aru said. Italian cyclist Luca Paolini from Russia’s Katyusha became the winner of the third stage of Giro d’Italia race. The Young rider classification in the Giro d'Italia is calculated in the same way as the general classification, with the riders times being totaled together after each stage; however, the classification is restricted to those that are under 25 years of age. The leader of the classification is awarded a white jersey (maglia bianca).
