Chess: 9-y.o. Kazakhstan chess-player is three-time world champion

Kazakhstan children have brought three medals -- one gold, one silver and one bronze -- from the World School Chess Championship that was held in Porto Carras, Halkidiki, Greece, reports.

Bibissara Assaubayeva of Kazakhstan once again proved the top rating playing in the Girls U9 WFM class and winning gold. She scored 8.5 points in nine rounds and was 0.5 point ahead of her closest rival from Indonesia. Earlier Assaubayeva won gold at two world championships in Romania and Brazil.

Amina Kairbekova from Kazakhstan won silver with 7.0 points in Girls U7 category. It was her first time at a world championship. Amina was 2 points behind the winner Bagul Ezizova from Turkmenistan who won all nine games and scored 9.0 points.

Zhanat Saiyn from Kazakhstan won bronze in his 15-year-old group. Azerbaijan’s Miradil Zeynalli won the group's world champion title with 7.5 points. IM Vahap Sanal from Turkey took the silver.
