Kazakhstan has gained its first Olympic spot in women boxing, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Vesti.kz. Saida Khassenova, 60-kilogram weight-league fighter, has managed to qualify for the Games thanks to a recent victory of Ireland's Katy Taylor (the same weight league) in the World Championship. Katy defeated Russian Sofya Ochigava with the score of 11:7 in the finals. Earlier Taylor won over Khassenova, but there were two Olympic spots designated for Asian countries' women boxers. So, when Taylor became the world champion, Khassenova moved to the second line in the Asian rating. Now she will be able to fight in the London Olympics, the main sports event of the quadrennium.
