37-y.o. Japan’s Nobuhiro Ishida will become the next rival of Kazakhstan’s Gennady Golovkin, Vesti.kz reports.

The 30-y.o. Kazakhstan boxer will fight against the 2009-2010 WBA world champion in Monte Carlo (Monaco) on March 30. Golovkin-Ishida bout will become the main fight in the Monaco show.

The Kazakhstan boxer has 25 fights in his professional boxing record and he won all of them. Ishida held 34 bouts in his professional career: he won 24 fights, lost 8 and tied 2 bouts. His best remembered fight was the fight against Dmitry Pirog on May 1, 2012. Russia’s boxer won by the unanimous decision of referees in a 12-round bout.

"Nobuhiro Ishida will be challenging Gennady Golovkin for the WBA middleweight title in Monte Carlo on March 30. We aim to win and fight every round. When he fought Williams and Pirog, he fought competitive every round and didn't embarrass himself or us. When opportunities come knocking, you take them. We have everything to win, and not much to lose. He will be ready and knows this will be his last chance at a title," Ishida's trainer, Rudy Hernandez, said.

Earlier it was reported that Golovkin will defend his title on March 30 against Gana’s Osumana Adama.
