Kazakhstan team Astana Arlans defeated America’s USA Knockouts during the World Series of Boxing (WSB) tournament, Vesti.kz reports.

The first bout was for 54kg weight division boxers: Kazakhstan’s Bagdad Alimbekov represented the Astana Arlans and American Joe Gregory Perez fought for the USA Knockouts. The bout was stopped after the Kazakhstan boxer dissected American boxer's eyebrow and it started bleeding heavily in the third round. As a result, Alimbekov won on points before the end of the bout.

Kazakhstan’s Samat Bashenov, 61kg boxer, won over Uzbekistan’s Anvar Yunussov in the second bout and brought another victory to the Astana Arlans club. Samat Bashenov, captain of Astana Arlans club, won over his USA Knockouts rival in a five-round bout with the score of 3:0 (50:45, 50:45, 50:45).

Croatia’s Sep Hrvoje caped for the Astana Arlans fought against Croatia’s Marco Kalisch caped for the USA Knockouts in a 85kg weight division bout. The Astana Arlans boxer beat his rival with the score of 3:0 (50:45, 50:45, 50:45) after five rounds of this Croatian derby.

91kg boxers fought in the last bout of the tournament. Kazakhstan’s Ruslan Myrsatayev won over Hungary’s Istvan Bernat with the score of 3:0.

Earlier American Clarence Joseph had to withdrew from the fight against Astana Arlans's Miras Bairkhanov (73kg boxer) because his weight was over the weight limit.

Eventually, the Kazakhstan team won without giving a single point to the American boxers.
