Кazakh piano virtuoso Oleg Pereverzev plays in air26 september 2014, 15:06
Kazakhstan’s virtuoso pianist, member of Chick Flick band Oleg Pereverzev has played Rimsky-Korsakov’s famous Flight of the Bumblebee on the piano suspended in the air, Tengrinews reports. The video was shot in Kiev, Ukraine.
“Of course, it was scary. There were stunt actors, but I climbed up and did all the tasks myself. We rehearsed it a day before. I do not know the exact height, I did not look down. As far as I remember, the crane arm can extend to 50 meters. I was above some buildings, a park and trees,” the musician shared his impression.
According to Oleg Pereversev, the stunt had never been done anywhere in the world before. He expressed hope that the video would attract a lot of attention and help promote art in Kazakhstan and classical music in particular. The next goal of the pianist is to play the piano in the open space.
He noted that his first video where he played the composition on two instruments and at the same time smoked and drunk coffee received more than 1 million views. “We have pretty much the same here. No cigarettes and no cat, but with coffee and Flight of the Bumblebee,” Oleg said.
Oleg Pereverzev was born in Taraz, southern Kazakhstan. He discovered his passion for music when he was five. He resides in Almaty since the age of 17.
At the age of 22, he graduated from Almaty-based Kazakh National Conservatory in piano. After that he studied in Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media in Germany.
Oleg Pereverzev became popular after he posted his video on YouTube. He performs classical music pieces in an unusual manner. The young musician performs Rimskiy-Korsakov’s Flight of the Bumblebee playing two instruments at the same time in one of his videos. He also performed Ferencz Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody No.2 with his back to the instrument.
After his videos had a great number of views and fans, Pereverzev was invited to take part in Russian show Minute of Fame, but the jurymen were not impressed by his show and the musician had to withdraw from the contest.
A few months later Oleg Perevrzev was invited to participate in the Ukraina Mae Talant 5 TV show (Ukraine's Got Talent). The pianist reached the final with his creative performance, where the audience raised in applause. He used eight music instruments in his final show; he played the keyboards not only turning his back to them and blindfold, but reaching to them from below and sideways.
His perfomance begins at 3:54 in the video below.
Oleg is a keyboard player of Kazakhstan's Chick Flick band. The band was found in 2009 as a live-band performing cover versions of popular hit songs. The band consists of a front singer Aisulu Koishinova, composers Eduard Bergaliyev and Balgan Ayazbayev, guitar player Arman Boyaubayev and pianist Oleg Pereverzev.
