There are Kazakhstanies among the employees of Cirque du Soleil, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Special Events and Development Director of Cirque du Soleil Sergey Gromov. “Several people from Kazakhstan already participate in the shows of Cirque du Soleil, they travel. We had two people from Kazakhstan perform at the show in Kremlin. Overall there are 1,300 artists and around 20 percent of them speak Russian. They are not Russians only; there come from post-Soviet countries and ex-Kazakhstan citizens are among them,” Gromov said. According to the circus’ Executive Producer and General Manager of Images, Events and Lifestyle Jacques Méthé, the idea to make the show in Kazakhstan on the Capital Day belongs to the famous film director Timur Bekmambetov. “Unfortunately, it was impossible to bring our regular show, that’s why we made a special show for this Capital Day to get the Astana audience feel and see at least a small part what people around the world can see,” he added. According to the organizers, the show is a reduced version of the circus' regular show, as the artists had only two months to prepare for the show. The show in Astana will last for only 50 minutes, while a normal show lasts 90 minutes in average. The event designer of the circus Véronique Dussault told the journalists about all the nuances of the unique show that see designed especially for the Astana Day: “The city of the future, the future of Astana will be the main topic of the show in Astana. The citizens will be able to meet the children of future who will show them bright and colorful life of the future. The show will open with the performance of the gymnasts in a huge ball. After that they will show different items like ramps and flights. All the parts will be connected to each other with dynamic dances. The main goal of this show is to share the spirit of the fest with the audience, that’s why the music selected for this show is very dynamic. The show will have a very beautiful final and this will be a surprise for the audience.” Dussault also added that they tried to use Kazakhstan and Astana colors in their costumes. According to Gromov, the circus is currently negotiating coming to Kazakhstan on general terms. Earlier Tengrinews.kz English reported that veterans and orphans will be able to watch the performance of Cirque du Soleil in Astana free of charge. By Shynar Ospanova
