Alexander Gussarov, British designer of Russian origin, finished Kazakhstan Fashion Week 2012/2013 autumn-winter season that was held on April 19-21 in Almaty by presenting his collection.

Alexandr Gussarov’s brand presented mainly pastel colors with restrained silhouettes. His collections was inspired by oriental culture, he said. The designer used natural fabrics to make the collection: knitted cloth, silk and chiffon.

Kazakhstan designer Saltanat Baymukhamedova (Salta brand) opened the final day of the KFW by presenting her 1960s-styled collection. Twiggy’s image inspired her, she said. The main colors were coral, green, black and white. The audience cheered Salta’s collection enthusiastically. The designer received business proposals from Monaco and New York after she participated in Aurora Fashion Week Russia that was held on April 9-15 in Saint-Petersburg.

The Fashion Week debutant Aygul Iskakova with Maanblom Fashion brand showed her men’s and women’s looks. Brown, orange, beige, emerald green, pink, and dark blue creations were made of knitted, cashmere, drape and rayon fabrics. The young designer became the finalist of 2011 Open Way contest.

Mikhail Kravets showed his collection called Madame Butterfly featuring complicated cuts.

Zhanna Shopanova (Jaka Fashion brand) also presented her works. Her The Four Seasons collection was inspired by Antonio Vivaldi's musical composition of the same name. This composition accompanied the collection’s presentation.

Alima Murzabekova designer, former Bolashak scholarship graduate, presented her 2012 collection inspired by origami configurations. Organza, cashmere, wool, leather and open-mesh fabric were used in her collection. The designer graduated with honors diploma from a Fashion Designer course in Fashion and Design Instituto Marangoni (Milan, Italy) in 2009.

Aya Bapani managed to repeat her last year's success in the KFW. The audience applauded every time her model appeared on the cat-walk. She once again presented a felt collection under the name of Epochs connected by one thread where intertwined historical and contemporary images.

23 designers from Kazakhstan, Great Britain, France, Georgia and Germany took part in Kazakhstan Fashion Week 2012/2013 autumn-winter.
