Kazakh make-up artists and hairdressers take part in Paris Fashion Week05 february 2015, 01:56
A team of make-up artists and hairdressers of Nurlan Alimkhodzhayev from Astana has been invited to take part in the Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2015 that took place in Paris, France on January 21-25, Tengrinews reports.
Nurlan and his teammates did make-up and hairstyles for the models of Kazakhstani designer Svetlana Kushnerova.
“Not every designer is eligible to be presented at the Paris Fashion Week. A commission conducts a very thorough selection. They look at the quality and design as well as the designers themselves. We did not send an application for the Paris Fashion Week. Svetlana chose us herself and invited us. I will share a secret with you - at first, producers of the Paris Fashion Week doubted about her choice, but Svetlana insisted,” Nurlan Alimkhodzhayev said.
“I am overwhelmed with pride for my country and for my team. Thank you all. We are the first and we are the leaders. It is very hard to hold the bar high, but I will do my best to raise the level of our country in this industry,” Nurlan said in his Instagram profile.

It is not the first time Svetlana Kushnerova presents her collection at Paris Fashion Week. It was in fact the fourth time. Over the past several years, Svetlana has been living and working in two cities, Moscow and Paris.
Svetlana was born in Kostanay city in northern Kazakhstan. Since her early childhood, she had a passion for design and making clothes for her friends. But her parents persuaded her to become a lawyer and study in Germany. Accomplishing her studies there, she came back to her hometown to do what she truly loved - design clothes.
Her collection was first presented at Kazakhstan Fashion Week, then at Russian Fashion Week where French designers noticed her and invited her to take part in the Paris Fashion Week 2014.
She has brand boutiques in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Singapore and plans to open up one in Kazakhstan as well. Her team includes around 40 people. And her clients include famous Russian and Western stars.
