International Circus Festival Echo of Asia was taking place from 1 to 8 July in Astana, Kazakhstan, Tengrinews reports.
It brought together a great number of famous circus performers. Artists from Russia, China, Mongolia, Vietnam, Belarus, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Many of the performers are winners of international festivals, masters of their genres and even descendants of circus dynasties.
Cavalcade, a festive parade of the festival participants to an orchestra was one of the most vivid events of the Echo of Asia celebration. Many citizens love the festival that has become a tradition. Every year, the festival gathers crowds and never leaves them disappointed. The 7th edition of the festival was even more exciting than the pervious one.
It was the first time a Vietnamese circus took part. They brought their famous hula hoop show. The 41-year-old performer has spent 24 years working with hoops. Her choreography, plastique, complex spins impressed the audience.
Russia also brought an unusual show - afghan hounds. Yuliya Golubeva has been working with circus dogs for 18 years. "Afghan hounds are considered absolutely unsuitable for training. They take a lot of time and persistence, because these dogs tend to do whatever they please, not what they are told," Yuliya shared.
Kazakhstan was represented by Dulet Dosbatyrov, 33, a descendent of a circus dynasty. He performed an aerial gymnastics show on straps.
In addition to the Circus Festival, Astana hosted the 5th Annual International Festival of Young Talents Shattyk that gathered around 700 children from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Latvia, China, Turkey and Israel.
Children performed in several categories: vocals, choreography, ethnic singing, children’s theater of fashion and original genre.
