Kazakhstan Fashion Week was held in Almaty on October 24-26. Atelier Artisan was the first to show its collection: Aleksey Chzhen and Sayat Dossybayev tried to impress the audience with a wild cocktail for ultra-bright colors with yellow and orange accents, optimistic red and blue outfits and male models wearing shorts and tights. According to KFW organizers, the spring-summer season of Kazakhstan Fashion Week saw promising debuts of Kazakhstan designers. They included Malika Nakan (MakoMosi) who studied in world-famous studios in the United States and Europe. Dark colors, long dresses, Eastern conservatism and futuristic cuts combined with modern materials reflected the talent of the designer, fashion experts say. Miss Almaty-2010 presented MakoMosi collection wearing a glorious light dress. A guest from Georgia Keti Chkhikvadze took part in Kazakhstan Fashion Week for the fourth time and, according to her, she considered herself Kazakhstan’s designed for a long time. An airy laconism of her snow-white collection was accompanies by an elegant detail: shiny green belts. According to Keti, her clothes combine pragmatism, comfort and elegance. Aigul Kassymova traditionally presented a light collection of light dresses in pastel colors. Works of French designer Georges Mac became the crowning touch of the first evening. He presented his new collection of luxurious evening gowns “inspired by icons, music and cinema”. “I came with the tender and romantic collection, a collection about a young lady and a garden of flowers,” the guest said. French lace, airy fabrics, “live” flowers enveloped the audience in a special warm atmosphere. On the second day of the event, October 25, KFW presented collections of Lariya Dzhakambayeva, Tamara Lamanukayeva, Zhadyra Sakhiyeva, Aida Kaumenova, Aya Bapani, Yerlan Zholdasbek and debutants Aidos Suleimenov and Arsen Famo brand. The evening was crowned by a collection of the German brand Salle de Mode. Rachel Ginsberg, a New York-based fashion consultant on Retail Fashion Trends spoke about retail trade in America, merchandizing and fashion trends. On the final day, October 26, she compared street-fashion in Kazakhstan and United States and described a profiled of American buyers from different cities.
