We are interested in high technologies in agriculture and processing industry: Nazarbayev

Nursultan Nazarbayev has voiced Kazakhstan’s interest in high technologies in agriculture and processing industry at the briefing for Kazakhstan media after his official visits to Austria and the Czech Republic, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the President’s official website.

“There are complicated processes going on in Europe, and despite of the negative consequences of the global crisis, Austria and the Czech Republic have retained their economic stability and sustainability. It is important and necessary for Kazakhstan to develop cooperation with European countries. The commodities turnover of Kazakhstan with the EU stands at $50 billion. Economies of our countries are complementary and, as we are implementing the program of accelerated industrial-innovative development we are interested in high technologies in the agricultural sector and processing industry. Besides, it is important to attract investments and exchange experience in development of small and medium-sized business,” Kazakhstan President said and added that the progress achieved during his visits to Austria and Czech Republic would boost economic relations with these countries.

The meetings with the leaders of both countries included signing of important bilateral documents and we continued with business forums where representatives of the European business circles expressed their interest in cooperation with Kazakhstan that is also interested in obtaining support of Austria and the Czech Republic for expansion of its partnership with other European countries.

“It is necessary to open more joint ventures: Kazakhstan-Austrian and Kazakhstan-Czech. This will allow us to create new jobs and train highly-qualified personnel. This is beneficial both for Kazakhstan and its European partners,” the press-service cited Nazarbayev as saying.

Besides, the President noted that Austrian and Czech leaders acknowledged Kazakhstan's achievements and progress in different sectors of the economy and reiterated the significance of cooperation with Kazakhstan.
