President Nazarbayev's bilateral meetings in Hague

President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has had a number of bilateral meetings during the Nuclear Security Summit in the Hague, Tengrinews reports citing the presidential press office.

During his meeting with the Prime Minister of the United Kigndom David Cameron, President Nazarbayev talked extending cooperation in oil and gas, trade and investments. Nazarbayev and Cameran have also broached the issue of implementation of the agreements reached during the Prime Minister’s visit to Kazakhstan.

Nazarbayev also met with the President of France Francois Hollande to discuss issues of mutual interest. A special attention was given to development of economic and trade ties between the two countries. Besides, Hollande and Nazarbayev discussed the agreements reached during the visit of the President of Kazakhstan to France.

Nazarbayev touched upon Kazakhstan’s role in the United Nations programs around the world during the meeting with the Secretary General of the UN Ban Ki-moon. Moreover, the Secretary General and the President discussed preliminary results of the Summit and Kazakhstan’s contribution to ensuring nuclear security.

Issues central to the agenda of the Summit were brought up at the meeting with the General Director of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano. Nazarbayev exchanged opinions with Amano concerning Kazakhstan’s initiatives in the IAEA.

In addition to discussing possible future cooperation in trade, science and technologies between Kazakhstan and Pakistan, President Nazarbayev addressed the issues of regional security at the meeting with the Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Nawaz Sharif.

Nazarbayev also held a bilateral meeting with the President of Azerbaijan Ilkham Aliev. They discussed their future cooperation and establishment of economic ties in trade, fuel and energy. Furthermore, Nazarbayev and Aliev talked about regional security.

Earlier, the President had had a meeting with His Majesty King of the Netherlands Willem-Alexander, Prime Minister Mark Rutte, and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Nazarbayev had discussed bilateral trade and economic, technical, and investments cooperation with the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe and Finland's President Sauli Niinisto.
