Nazarbayev checked out Malaysian ‘smart’ cities projects, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan President’s press-service.

After negotiations with Malaysian management, Kazakhstan President visited an exhibition of the country’s leading companies. In particular, Nursultan Nazarbayev looked into the projects of Iskandar Malaysia and Cyberjaya, the newest cities with economies based on knowledge, new technologies and high-quality services.

Besides, the exhibition included the products of ALM Builders Sdn Bhd construction company that is negotiating on implementation of several major projects in Almaty oblast. Nazarbayev also looked into Melewar Industrial Group Berhad company's plans to open a construction fittings factory in Kazakhstan and Markore Energy company's intention to develop several oil fields in Kazakhstan.

Nursultan Nazarbayev was named an honorary professor of Limkokwing University of Creative Technology. Kazakhstan President has become the fourth politician holding this degree. Earlier it was given to Nelson Mandela, Mahathir bin Mohamad and incumbent Malaysian Prime-Minister Najib Tun Razak.

During the two-day state visit to Malaysia Nazarbayev met with its Prime-Minister and the Government and held negotiations with the Supreme Head of Malaysia 14th Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdul Halim.
Kazakhstan President also held an unofficial meeting with former Prime-Minister of Malaysia Mahathir bin Mohamad, where Nazarbayev wore an unusual outfit.
