Kirill Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia wished peace and prosperity to all Kazakhstan citizens. His Holiness Kirill Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia arrived in Astana today, on May 29, where he was met by Astana Akim (Mayor) Imangali Tasmagambetov at the plane ramp, Tengrinews.kz reports.

“I would like to greet all the Kazakhstan people and wish them peace, prosperity in enhancement of inter-religious relations and success both in material and spiritual development,” the Patriarch told the journalists after landing in Astana airport.

He noted that this was his second visit to Kazakhstan. “This time I arrived with a special mission to take part in the 4th Congress of World Religions, but at the same time I will have an opportunity to visit the metropolitan district in Astana and take part in the blessing of the new building of the Synod of Kazakhstan’s Orthodox Church and the spiritual center of the equal to the apostles Cyril and Methodius in Uspenskiy Cathedral,” Patriarch Kirill said.

The Primate of The Russian Orthodox Church stressed that Kazakhstan is a country with harmoniously developing inter-religious relations and effective and constructive interactions between religious organizations and the state. “You know that prudent policies of Kazakhstan President have determined the existing parameters: the peaceful and kind interaction,” he said.

Besides participation in the Congress of World and Traditional Religions, Kirill Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia met with Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
