Kazakhstan’s President has arrived in Dubai to attend the 10th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF), a Tengrinews.kz journalist reports, citing the President’s official website.
“Among those in attendance at the forum focused on innovative partnership for economic growth there are heads of state and heads of governments, leaders of international organizations and reps of business circles, as well as experts and scholars”, the President’s Press Service reports.
The World Islamic Economic Forum started off from a modest beginning as the OIC Business Forum, which was held on 15th October 2003, in conjunction with the tenth OIC Summit in Putrajaya, Malaysia.
Back in 2011 Astana hosted the 7th WIFE forum. Nursultan Nazarbauev suggested a system of food aid within the OIC with a regional fund within the Islamic Development Bank and a food pool formed by OIC member states.
